Kaj'ne

Manteen-Centipedal Hybrids with Actaeshosk Suits that protect them whilst hunting on their tidally locked planet.

Their bodies resemble that of a mantis on their top Half with two segmented arms that can split apart into two working 4 digit hands,

whilst their torso and lower body resemble that of centipede, retaining the same manteen blade arms as legs capable of acting like weapons in their own right.

Burrowing and climbing is child's play to this species.

Due to said Tidally Lock, Pel'te'une, their home world is thrust in to a blasted heath day side and barren icecap night side,

Their Goldilocks Zone within the Twight light equator of their planet is a humid rainforest with temperamental, violent weather.

their ecosystem is volatile enough to necessitate making ample use of underground passageways and laying within the shadow of barren blasted ridges which shield the rainforest from the ionizing radiation of their sun

the Kaj'ne exist within great undercities within the humid equator, making monthly pilgrimages to either the barren ice caps or radioactive desert to collet rare metals or clean water respectively

Preservation of fluid as well as protection from the elements is imperative to the Kaj'ne, as a result, their Actaeshosk suits are engineer to accomplish both.

The Wyrm-ways Merchants is Multi-party Political System ruled based on the mercantile power of and strengths of industrious merchants, much like the Medici family.

The Separate Groups under this political system have different rare metals minted into (somewhat) easily counterfeit-able currencies, each evaluated due to the rarities of the metals the coins are minted on, the power of other Coinbase's, market demand of goods and group value of those coins opposed to said goods.

Kaj'ne quants are a rarity in terms of birth but due to few being born into their society being able to study themselves and others like them,

Certain procedures taken whilst raising common Kaj'ne have been observed increasing the chance of producing a Quant.

Unfortunately, for the Wyrm-ways Merchants, the same methods that birth Quants, also birth Ridge-Winders

The Method for fostering Skills for either becoming Quants or Ridge-Winders within the Kaj'ne is referred to as the Root-Ripping Way, an ethos that unmoors Kaj'ne from thinking of themselves a slaves to obligation but rather agents in and of themselves.

On Average, Kaj'ne are fiercely loyal to those within their path, and constantly working toward forging new paths with others,

Kaj'ne are relationship builders by nature but are also stubborn to their core value structure not proceeding with actions that violate their sub-values, even for those they forged paths with.

In the event paths branch to rival parties, Kaj'ne are rarely seen taking a side, only breaking from the Root-Ripping Way When a path is in jeopardy of being irrevocably damaged.

Though a truly rare occurrence within Pel'te'une, the Kaj'ne have broken paths on their own soil. Such occurrences have been documented in detail, to the extent of myth.

These events have acted as catalysts for change within Pel'te'une, mobilizing Kaj'ne to avoid certain outcomes due to truly vocal individuals willing to commit grievous sin to change their world.

These individuals are referred to as Shi'sanesk,
viewed with a mixture of reverence and disgust, these individuals are entombed with their chitin unused and separated from those staying the paths.

A symbol of their sin, their tombs are well tended but reuse of their remains is seen as an abortion of theRoot-Ripping Way their memory, only maintained by who maintain their graves, usually their Path-Driven.

Instruments used by Kaj'ne are made up of chitin considered too thin to act as Actaeshosk plating with instruments resembling, flutes, glass harmonicas, steel drums,

when paired with fresh water and softer soil, instruments resembling water harps and timpanis are producible.
